The 30 Day Praise Challenge–Day 18
I can’t believe what she said
I can’t believe what he did
Oh, don’t they know it’s wrong
Don’t they know it’s wrong
Well maybe there’s something I missed
But how could they treat me like this
It’s wearing out my heart
The way they disregardThis is love or this is hate
We all have a choice to make
These are the opening lyrics to today’s worship song, Losing by Tenth Avenue North. Forgiveness is difficult, but forgiveness is a choice.
We all have difficult people in our lives. I know. I get it. It’s not fun interacting with people who hurt you, treat you poorly and seem to disregard the fact that you are a precious human being. But Jesus asks us to forgive.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14)
Instead of focusing on the wrong others have done to you, focus on praising God. Praise Him for the difficult people He has put in your life. He put them there to help shape you to be more like himself. It may not be easy, but you will be blessed.
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1Peter 3:9)
