The 30 Day Praise Challenge–Day 19
I think being a parent is the most difficult job I have ever had. Looking back I recognize many mistakes I made. Some days I long to be able to start over with my kids and “do it right” this time. But life doesn’t work that way. All I can do is try to do better as I move forward.
We all, as parents, are flawed. The parental role models of Ward and June Cleaver or Mike and Carol Brady are not realistic. Yet, we do have a Heavenly Father who is the perfect role model and loving parent.
and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty. (2Corinthians 6:18)
We have a Father who, even in our darkest moments with our earthly parents never leaves us.
Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me. (Psalm 27:10)
Believer, if you are carrying anger, guilt, shame or bitterness towards your earthly parents, if you are burdened by regrets of the past, let them go. Turn your attention to your perfect, loving Heavenly Father and praise Him.
